Bernice Houston Washington

On December 30, 2018, Mrs. Bernice Houston-Washington, age 82 of Dallas, Texas quietly slipped away to be with the Lord.

Bernice was born in Centerville, Texas on February 16, 1936 to the parentage of the late Melinda Cooper & Robert Houston.

She accepted and received Christ at an early age and was a faithful servant; until on December 30, 2018, when she was called home to be with the Lord.

Throughout her glorious life she was the proud mother of six sons and two daughters.

Bernice hobbies and passions were; tending to her beautiful flower garden , cooking and loving and caring for her grand and great-grand children. She had an unfettered love, care and concern for children. She was truly the community mother of the many neighbor hood children, whom all who considered her their second mother. Her doors were always open to taking in and caring for others, as though they were her very own family.

Preceding her in death was her Husband; Paul Washington and a Son; Oscar McDonald. She leaves to cherish precious memories her Children; Shelia, Dale, Kennedy, Willie, Alondell, Freddy. & Nicky (Tiffany), Along with a plethora of Grand Children, Great-Grand Children, Nieces, Nephews, other Relatives and Friends, all whom she dearly loved. Bernice will truly be missed by all of her family and friends.

Funeral Services are 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Emanuel Fellowship Baptist church (400 N. Prairie Creek Road -Dallas, Texas 75217), Rev Leonard Marshaw, Eulogist.

Interment at Laurel Land Memorial Park Cemetery (Dallas, Texas) will follow the funeral services.

Ms. Washington will lie in repose at the church, one hour prior to funeral time.
