It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Betty Thomas, age 91, who peacefully transitioned into eternity On September 26, 2025. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers. Betty Irene Hill {Sides} Thomas, 91, of Dallas, Texas passed away quietly on the afternoon of September
26, 2025. Betty lived her last six years at the Denison Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center. Her larger-
than-life personality filled any room and the lives of those whom she knew. Betty loved Jesus and shared
this love with family and friends.
She was born in San Antonio on May 26, 1934. Her family moved to Dallas two years later where she
spent most of her life. She considered herself a “Dallasite.” She was a graduate of Sunset High School,
class of 1952. Shortly after graduation, she was married and began having her family. Raising her sons
and loving them was her true vocation. Betty was devoted to her family and was passionate about their
well-being. She lived out her days as a courageous prayer warrior and those prayers continue to be
answered to this day.
Betty is survived by her four sons and their families: Lynn Sides and his wife, Emily, and their four
children Jason, Kim, Melissa and Daniel (deceased); Joe Sides and his wife, Leigh, and their three
daughters Erin, Laura, and Cari; Allen Thomas and his wife, Ginger, and son Arthur; Tom, and his wife,
Mindy and their daughter, Charlotte. Betty is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren (with more on the
way.) She prayed continually for everyone in her family and regularly sent birthday cards to her sons,
their wives, their children, and all the great-grandchildren. She left a legacy of love and care that has
been a tremendous gift to her family!
A graveside service will be held at noon on Tuesday, October 7 th at Grove Hill Cemetery.
