Carolyn Garrison Obituary

Ollie Carolyn Garrison, known affectionately to friends and family as Carolyn, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2024, at the age of 89 in DeSoto, Texas. Born on December 10, 1934, in Polk County, Texas, Carolyn was a beacon of love and kindness throughout her life, touching the hearts of all who knew her.

Carolyn spent her formative years in Texas, where she blossomed into a young woman of strong character and warmth. After completing her high school education, she dedicated her life to the cherished role of a housewife. Carolyn was the loving matriarch of her family and created a home filled with joy, laughter, and endless love.

She was a devoted wife to the late Travis Garrison Sr., with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and a deep, enduring love. Carolyn's legacy continues through her beloved sister, Addie Bates of Garland, Texas; her children; Janice Garrison Doshier of DeSoto, Texas, Travis Garrison Jr. of Grand Prairie, Texas, Mark Garrison of Van Nuys, California, and Beverly Garrison of Grand Prairie, Texas.

Her life was further enriched by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy. Carolyn was preceded in death by her daughter; Sandra Garrison Keeling of Lancaster, Texas, her son; Ronnie Garrison of Waco, Texas, her twin brother; James Faison Jr. of Garland, Texas, and sister; Ruby Braggs of Los Angeles, California.

She was the daughter to the late Ethel Glaspie and James Faison Sr., both of Dallas, Texas. Her parents instilled in her the values of love and family that she upheld throughout her life. Those who knew Carolyn will remember her for her love of the simple pleasures in life. She had a green thumb, cultivating a beautiful garden that was the envy of her neighbors and a peaceful sanctuary for her family.

Carolyn also found joy in fishing, where she would spend tranquil hours by the water, basking in the beauty of nature. Her talents extended to sewing, where she crafted beautiful garments and keepsakes for her loved ones. Above all, Carolyn cherished the time spent with family and friends, and her presence was a source of comfort and happiness to those around her.

Carolyn's character was the embodiment of love, thoughtfulness, and kindness. She approached life with a gentle spirit and a generous heart, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her compassionate nature and unwavering support were the cornerstones upon which her family was built, and her influence will be felt for generations to come.

As we bid farewell to Ollie Carolyn Garrison, we celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy of love that will forever be etched in our memories. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, and her memory will be cherished in our hearts always. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Carolyn's family will gather in a private ceremony to honor her memory and the light she brought into this world.

We take solace in knowing that Carolyn is now at peace. Our family wishes to extend their gratitude to all who have shared in Carolyn's journey and contributed to the tapestry of her wonderful life. May her soul rest in peace, and may her story continue to be told with love and admiration.
