Clair Jewel Allen

It is with deep regret that we inform of the passing of Ms. Clair Jewel Allen, age 71 of Dallas, Texas. Services for Ms. Allen are posted.

Clair Jewel Allen was born in Palmer (Ellis County), Texas, on September 22, 1953, to the union of Booker T. Allen and Bernice Allen. She attended and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. Afterwards, she pursued studies at El Centro Community College. 

Clair began her career at Searcy’s Day Care and then joined the Dallas Independent School District, where she worked for 30 years before retiring.

Clair met her life partner, Willie Graves, and together they welcomed one child. She was preceded in death by her parents, Booker T. and Bernice Allen; her sisters, Ruby Young, Martha Fisher, and Minnie Johnson; and her brothers, Walter and Robert Charles Allen. 

Clair is survived by her daughter, Porcha Graves; her grandchildren, Princeton Horn and Messiah Graves; her six sisters; her three brothers; and a host of nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
