Derrick Guinyard Obituary

Mr. Derrick Pramond Guinyard was born to the proud parentage of Mr. Roger Lee and Mrs. Clura D. Guinyard on August 24, 1968 in Dallas, Texas. Both parents preceded him in death.

Derrick was educated in the Dallas Independent School District and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School. He was raised in and sing in the choir at Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. He later joined The Potter's House Church, where he served in Josiah, the Praise Team for a few years.

He met and married Andrea Teal, to which two beautiful girls were born of this union; Amber and Arena Guinyard. His girls were his prized possession. He was fiercely protective and instilled in them the importance of walking in their life’s purposes.

Derrick was employed at FedEx Headquarters, where he served as a Senior Dispatcher. In his leisure, he loved wood-working, singing to the top of his lungs, and laughing. He had a joke for every person he encountered. His favorite color was gold because that was worth more than silver. You could always expect to see his infamous chicken tetrazzini in the fridge or as his only order at Luby's restaurant because that happened to be his favorite food. If he couldn't get that, a quarter pounder with cheese or a Big Mac from McDonald's and fries drenched in ketchup would suffice. His strong will, intelligence, and quick wit will never be forgotten.

He leaves to mourn and cherish precious memories, his daughters; Amber and Arena Guinyard, two sisters; Sylvia Wiseman and Roger Renna Martin, nephew; Renaldo Johnson and his wife, Sherri Johnson and daughter, MacKenzie Johnson, his beloved niece; Tamara Guinyard, an uncle; Willie D. Young, along with plethora of cousins, a host of other loved ones and valued friends...Oh, and his second prized possession, his motorcycle.
