It is with utmost sorrow and deepest condolences that we announce the passing of Mr. Fred Douglas Janis, III, age 69 of Lancaster, TX.
Mr. Fred” Shanghai” Douglas Janis, III was born in Dallas, Texas on December 19, 1951, to the proud parentage of Arvilla Janis, Sr., and Mildred Louise Fort-Janis. He attended Dallas Public Schools’ Lincoln High School and was proud to be a Lincoln Purple and White Tiger. Fred was a professional welder and owner of his very own welding business.
Fred (Shanghai) among family and friends were known as a jokester. His jokes and laughter will be greatly missed by all. He never met a stranger and was truly admired by many.
He was preceded in death by both parents, his wife; Gladiola Fisher-Janis, daughters; Gayle and Shelia Dawson, a sister; Annetta Lewis-Glover, a brother; Phillip Janis, his son; Fonzell and grandson; Quentin D. Dawson.
Fred leaves behind to cherish precious memories: three children; Paula Gulley (Truman) of Lancaster, TX, Fredisha and Rashard both of Dallas, TX, nine Grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, six siblings: Raymond of California, William, Harold, Felicia of Dallas, TX, Priscilla and Arvilla Jr. of Beaumont, TX and a plethora of nieces, nephews’ along with other relatives and friends. Now Fred has no more suffering, no more pains, and no more heartaches, may his soul now Rest In Peace in the arms of the Lord. Private family services for Mr. Janiswere conducted. Please keep the family lifted in prayer.
