It is with utmost sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. (SP/5) George L. Goldsmith, an US Army veteran, age 74 of DeSoto, Texas. Services for Mr. Goldsmith are posted.
Mr. George Leonard Goldsmith, Jr. was born on May 19, 1950, to the proud parents of George Leonard Goldsmith, Sr. and Ollye Edward. He graduated from Centennial High School in Los Angeles. After high school, George was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving with distinction during the Vietnam War. A courageous veteran, he faced the challenges of combat in the jungles of Vietnam with dedication and valor. Upon returning from the war, George began his career with Sparkletts Drinking Water. He met and later married the love of his life, Debra, on July 20, 1985.
On Sunday, November 10, 2024, God called Brother Goldsmith to his heavenly home, where he rejoins his beloved wife Debra Goldsmith, father George L. Goldsmith Sr., and mother; Ollye Edward-Bell. In God’s care, he leaves to cherish his memory: his loving children—George L. Goldsmith III, EL Dunta (Peggy) Washington, Lashawn Williams, Necie Morris, Larry (Karen) Coverson, Gerald (April) Goldsmith, and Micheal (Yolanda) Oliver—along with 25 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Brenda Blackwell and Pamela Kennedy, and brother Jerald (Mattie) Goldsmith. He is also remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
~Romans 8:38-39~
