James Ervin Wright (Lyles) was born on September 30,1948, in Houston, TX to the late Leola Flanagan and Page Lyles. He was also proceeded in death by his granddaughter Ashley Lyles. Ervin completed his earthly journey and transitioned to his heavenly home on December 25, 2022, from his home in DeSoto, TX, after a long fight with prostate and bone cancer.
Ervin attended Worthing High School in Houston, Texas. He was in the transportation business for over fifty years. He was anowner and founder of A Mantis Limousine Company for over 15years in Seattle, Washington. Ervin enjoyed the transportation business meeting new people. Ervin also spent his years in Denver, CO, Reno, NV and Seattle, WA.
Ervin enjoyed catering events, cooking, and fishing. His was all about the presentation when it came to cooking a simple dish for family and friends. His lavish dish always had to be picture perfect.
Ervin was an history professor, not by degree but by knowledgeof the History channel and google. He could tell you anything about history. He specialized in monumental architecture. For years he wanted to visit Turkey to view their monumental architecture. In March 2014 he was given the opportunity of a lifetime to visit Turkey and that was an awesome experience for him. The entire experience was a dream that became reality. Hewas able to see some of the monumental architecture in GoebkliTepe and Istanbul he seen on the History channel. Ervin just had to go to Goebkli Tepe to see proof of alien siting’s that was on the History channel. He was a firm believer in Aliens.
You can say Ervin never meet a stranger. He had a great sense of humor he could make the entire room laugh. He didn’t have a problem with telling you what was on his mind. Even through the pain, he could make you and nurses laugh at the hospital. He remained driven after his cancer diagnosed in 2013, remaining dedicated in his work and in his will to fight his illness.
He leaves to cherish his memories devoted wife Gloria Bradford, daughter’s and son’s Annette Lyles, Jeannette Shackelford(Dave), Vernon, Andre Lyles, Maurice Mitchell (Michelle), LaVonya Cruz (Robert) brother Adolph Lyles and Lawrence Lyles; sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; three god children and a host of relatives and friends.
