There is no other place I long to be, than In my Savior’s embrace, where we are free from life's cares. There's rest, and sweet communion, for Jesus has all that I we need, For in His presence there is fullness of joy, and at his right hand are pleasures forevermore, there is no place that I'd rather be, Than in the arms of Jesus my King. It is with utmost sorrow, and heaviness of heart that we announce the passing of Ms. Jimmie L. Thomas of DeSoto, TX.
Jimmie Lee Thomas was born in Dallas, Texas October 28, 1946, to Rev. James Thomas Sr. and Goldie Mae Thomas. Jimmie Lee Thomas was the first child born to their union. Jimmie Lee Thomas graduated from Roosevelt High School. After graduation Jimmie met and married the love of her life Walter Thomas Sr. To this Union two children were conceived, D’bora Thomas and Walter Thomas Jr.
Jimmie was active in her Father's Church, House of Shallow Holliness Church, she loved singing in the church choir. Jimmie commitment to Christ developed into a leadership roll, as an Assistance Pastor of her Father's Church.
Jimmie had a competitive spirit; Jimmie was her name and Spades was her game. God place a smile on her face and always a song in her heart. When she wasn't attending to the needs of her family she was waiting on the Jimmie Boston at spades.
Jimmie Thomas was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband; Walter Thomas Sr., daughter; D'ebora Thomas, brothers; Julius and Danny Thomas. Her memory will be cherished by her son; Walter Thomas (Pee Wee) Jr., Sisters; Lyrica Garrett, and Barbara Martin, her brother; James Thomas, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ms. Thomas’ services are entrusted to and will be directed by the Loving, Compassionate and Exceptional Services of Bethesda Memorial Funeral Directors - DeSoto, TX. Please keep the Thomas family lifted in your thoughts and prayers.
