Jimmy Williams Obituary

It is with profound sorrow and sincere condolences that we announce the passing Mr. Jimmy Lee Williams, age 82 of Dallas, TX, from earth to his eternal home, on today, Saturday, September 11, 2021. Jimmy Williams, also known as “Sweet Jimmy,” on January 25, 1939, was born in Texarkana, Arkansas. He was the only child born to the parentage of the Late Clint and Lizzie Williams.

At an early age, Jimmy accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at Park Avenue Baptist Church in Texarkana, Arkansas. He completed his formal education in the Texarkana Public Schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington High. Shortly after graduating, he was drafted into the US Army, where he served honorably for two years.

After his discharge from the Army, Jimmy moved to Oakland, California where he worked at General Motors (GM) Factory. While living in Oakland he met and married his late wife, Patricia
Williams. He remained in Oakland, until GM relocated him to their Kansas City, Kansas facility.

Then upon retiring from GM, Jimmy worked for BNSF Railway as a driver until he again decided to retire. Afterwards, he and Patricia chose to relocate to Jimmy's hometown of Texarkana, AR.   final retirement life included lots of fishing (One of his favorite hobbies), and hanging out with family and old friends.

Jimmy was a member of St. James Baptist Church, until his health begin to fail, and the decision was made to relocate to Dallas, TX and reside with his daughter Rosalind. While in Dallas, when his health would allow, Jimmy attended the Central Pointe Church of Christ, where he remained faithful until death.

He was preceded in death by both parents, his lovely wife; Patricia Williams and his Son; Dwayne Lamar Williams.

He leaves to cherish precious and loving memories, children; Brenda Willis of Texarkana, AR, Rosalind E Williams-Pollard of Dallas, Texas, Charles Williams, Jr. of Kansas City, KS, Carolyn Coulter (Michael) of Texarkana, TX, and Lynn McElroy of Texarkana, TX, and a plethora of grandchildren, great grandchildren, many other relatives, and friends. His final wishes were to return to Texarkana and be buried next to his loving wife Patricia. Jimmy will truly be missed.
