Linda Estell Nickerson, a beacon of warmth and joy, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on November 26, 1942, in Dallas, Texas, Linda's life was a testament to the enduring strength of love, family, and faith.

Linda's early years were spent in the bustling city of Dallas where she received her formal education, from Dallas’ Lincoln High School. Her journey of learning and growth in Dallas laid a strong foundation for the remarkable woman she would become. Linda's professional life was dedicated to the Dallas Independent School District (DISD), where she served with a spirit of diligence and commitment, touching the lives of many through her work.

Married to Joe Nickerson, Linda's life was enriched by love and partnership. Together, they built a life filled with shared experiences and cherished moments. Linda's love for her family was evident in the simple joys she found in activities like going to the movies. These outings were more than just entertainment; they were threads that wove the fabric of their family's story.

A devout member of The Potters House Church, Linda's faith was a cornerstone of her existence. Her involvement in the church community was a reflection of her belief in service, fellowship, and the power of faith in everyday life.

Linda had a zest for life that was contagious. Her enthusiasm for garage sales was emblematic of her appreciation for the stories and history behind each item. She approached these treasure hunts with an eagerness that endeared her to all who knew her. Likewise, Linda's love of food was not just about sustenance but about the pleasure and comfort that comes from a good meal shared with loved ones.

Preceded in death by her mother, Willie Lee Riley, Linda's legacy is carried forward by her four children: Tony Drake, Jimmie Drake, Pamela Drake, and Frank White, Jr. Each of them embodies her spirit of compassion, resilience, and joy, ensuring that her influence will continue to be felt for generations.

Linda's departure from this world was in DeSoto, Texas, where she was surrounded by the natural beauty she so loved. Her passing, though a solemn event, is also a celebration of a life lived fully, with grace and an unwavering commitment to the things she held dear.

As we bid farewell to Linda Estell Nickerson, we do so with hearts full of gratitude for the time we were privileged to share with her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, a blueprint for living a life of purpose, and memories that will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her.

In her memory, let us hold close the lessons she imparted through her example: to cherish each moment, to nurture the bonds of family, and to live a life anchored in faith. Linda's story does not end here, for she lives on in the thoughts, the smiles, and the loving actions of her family and all who were touched by her generous spirit.

As the sun sets on her earthly journey, we take solace in knowing that Linda Estell Nickerson has found peace, and we celebrate a life beautifully lived. Her light, though no longer with us in the physical sense, will continue to shine brightly in the values she instilled, the love she shared, and the profound impact she made on all who knew her.
