Loitta Stribling Obituary

I was born by the river In a little tent Oh, and just like the river, I've been running Ever since It's been a long A long time coming, but I know A change gon' come, Oh yes, it will It's been too hard living But I'm afraid to die 'Cause I don't know what's up there Beyond the sky It's been a long A long time coming, but I know A change gon' come Oh yes, it will. I go to the movie And I go downtown And somebody keep telling me Don't hang around" It's been a long A long time coming, but I know A change gon' come Oh yes, it will. Then, I go to my brother And I say, "Brother, help me, please" But he winds up knockin' me Back down on my knees, oh There been times that I thought I couldn't last for long But now, I think I'm able To carry on It's been a long A long time coming, but I know A change gon' come Oh yes, it will.

On behalf of the staff and management of Bethesda Memorial Funeral Directors. It is with great sadness that we announce the transition of Mrs. Loitta M. Lucas-Stribling of Dallas, Texas. Please keep the Stribling family, church family, and friends in our prayers during this most difficult time. Services for Mrs. Stribling are posted.

Loitta Mache’ Lucas Stribling, the daughter of Vessie Mae Lucas (deceased) and Earl Lucas Sr. was born on June 3rd 1966. Loitta was a graduate of South Oak Cliff High School - Golden Bears class of 1984. While attending high school she was captain of the flag core and performed at many parades in Dallas, Texas. After graduating high school Loitta earned her certification as a Cosmologist and worked professionally for a number of years. On September 1st 2004 Loitta married Rick Stribling.

In her life’s journey she was added to the Lord’s church via Bro. Richard Mathis at Singing Hills Church of Christ and continued worshipping God at that location until her transition. Anyone who knew Loitta, knew that she had a loving heart. She was one of the kindest, sincere, and sweetest people you ever met. Her persona was filled with genuine love for everyone.

“Love you for free Sugar !” was a phrase she said often to indicate her affection for you and it came at no cost.

The measure of her impact was not defined by things of this world. Her faith in God, her ability to genuinely be happy for someone else’s accomplishments and her positive posting on social media always brighten our day.

Loitta also known as Leada and Lo is survived by her husband Rick Stribling. Her step daughters Alisha Simon and Deja Bennett her stepson Xavier Stribling. Her father Earl Lucas Sr. and her brother Earl Lucas Jr. (Jackie). nephews Jared, Earl III, Wymond and nieces Victoria, Latasha and Daisy.

Loitta had many first and second cousins. She is survived by her most special relationship with cousin Shawn Cox as they would FaceTime and talk everyday.

Her best friends throughout her life were Cassandra Garth, Geneva Jones, Coretha Thomas, Shelia Robinson and many other friends and family members.

She was the God Mother to Elzin Johnson, Briana Garth, Roquia Reed, Michael Reed, Atari Reed, Gecory Reed and Manisha Brown. She will be missed - Forever.
