Lydia Robinson Obituary

Ms. Lydia Carol Robinson of Dallas, Texas departed this life peacefully on July 5, 2020 at the age of 69 years. She was born April 11, 1951 in Wallace, Rose Hill, North Carolina to Raphael Robinson and Catherine Williams Robinson. She attended elementary school in Rose Hill, NC before relocating to Poughkeepsie, NY. She attended Poughkeepsie public schools and graduated from Poughkeepsie High School. She graduated from Marist College with a B.A in Business Administration.

At an early age Lydia accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior while attending Byrds Chapel Baptist Church in Wallace, NC. Later in life she became a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Poughkeepsie, NY under the leadership of Rev. Grayson and Rev. Jesse Voyd Bottoms. She was a member of SNAG gospel choir under the direction of Ms. Lucille Bass. Lydia Carol relocated to Dallas, Texas and attended First Presbyterian Baptist Church until she became ill. Lydia Carol was employed for several years as a Mental Health Therapy Aide with Hudson River Psychiatric Center and as Secretary of City Hall consecutively in Poughkeepsie, NY. She also worked as a Computer Analyst for IBM for 13 years before relocating to Dallas Texas.

She brought immeasurable joy to us. She was the first pride and joy of 10 children. She was a caring and nurturing mother to her son. She was protective and loved her siblings. She put family first and was passionate about keeping us close. She was a lover of the arts and fashion. She enjoyed dancing and listening to music. She was funny, outgoing, and vivacious, but also quiet and introspective. She symbolized beauty and grace. She was fiercely loyal to her friends and family. She had a special relationship with her Savior Jesus Christ. She spent countless hours reading his word and standing on his promises. She shared biblical knowledge and scripture to family and friends as a testament of her faith. Her infectious beautiful smile would light up your soul along with her caring personality and giving spirit. When you think of Lydia Carol, celebrate the good memories you have of her. She cared about people in the purest way. She loved people for who they were and because she wished the best for them, without guile and without asking anything in return. Mostly, recall the sheer pleasure of her company, how good she made you feel, how free you were to be yourself around her, and how much her presence in our lives will be sorely missed.
