Mrs. Marion Elizabeth Moore Henson passed away peacefully at home on 09-15-2018. Marion was born on a hot summer day on 08-04-1929 in Bullard, Texas to Minnie Ola Dennis and William Guy Moore. Sadly, Marion and her two brothers, Jack and Eugene became orphaned at a young age. They were sent to live at the Bowles Home for Orphans where they lived for a number of years before being sent to live with relatives in Loveland, Colorado in the early 1940’s. While living there, she met and married Thomas Henson. They started a family and moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, which was home for Marion for many years.
Marion enjoyed many activities: the monthly bridge night; traveling; going to movies; and spending time with her children. She was an avid collector of fine porcelain and rare coins. She was a JC Penney Associate for 20 years working in the Credit and Layaway Department. Marion was always upbeat, cheerful and ready for an adventure. In her later years, she lived in Dallas, TX with her daughter and son in law.
She is survived by son John Henson, of Santa Rosa, California;two daughters: Jaralee Schutt of Security, CO; Cecilia Henson-Turkelson; Son in Law Daniel Turkelson of Dallas, TX; grandson Jason Schutt and granddaughter Jessica Mayes, both of Elkton, KY. She is preceded in death by her parents Minnie Ola and William Moore, brothers Jack and Eugene Moore; husband Thomas; and daughters Amy Jo and Melanie Gail Henson.
The family gratefully acknowledges the competent, caring, and attentive staff of BrightStar Dallas and Vitas Hospice Care. We want to thank everyone for their loving and diligent efforts to ensure Marion’s comfort during this time.
