Mrs. Mary Lucille Johnson was born in Alton, Illinois, on October 3, 1946 to the parentage of Lettie Mae Jackson and John Hearn. Mary grew up in Alton where she attended Alton public schools. In 1964, she graduated from Alton Senior High School and a year later; in 1965, she married the love of her life, Leroy Johnson. To this union three children were born; Leah, Eric and Derick.
Mary and John moved from Alton to El Paso, Texas and later to DeSoto, Texas where she remained until death. She worked many years with several insurance companies and was employed with All State Insurance for 13 years, before retiring.
Mary was a faithful and dedicated member of "These Are They Community Church - DeSoto, Texas", where she served faithfully as a member of the Mother's board and with the Keenagers Ministry (members age 50 and up).
She was preceded in death by her Parents; Lettie Mae Jackson and John Hearn; Husband, Leroy Johnson and one brother; Willie Hearn. Mary leaves to cherish her memory; Daughter, Leah Baker (Donald) of Dallas, TX; Sons; Eric Johnson (Stophe) of Burbank, California and Derick Johnson of DeSoto, TX; Sisters, Sue Ingram (Floyd) of Alton, Illinois and Rose Williams (Joseph) of Canton, Georgia; Brother, John Hearn Jr. of Cedar Hill, TX; Grandson, Quentin Johnson; Granddaughter, Peyton Johnson and a host of many other relatives and beloved friends. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Homegoing services are 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at These Are They Community Church - 200 S. Polk - DeSoto, TX 75115; Pastor Bob Davis, eulogist.
